PowerPoints to use for reference this week:
Text Elements PowerPoint Theme PowerPoint Weekly E-mail Good Afternoon, This week we are starting our study of theme and the interactions of text elements in literature. This week’s assessment on Friday will cover both of those concepts. Grade Book I do not currently have access to my gradebook in order to post grades as some of the rosters are still being finalized. Later this week I should have access for posting grades. At that time, I will update the gradebook for all assignments issued so far this year. I anticipate having all grades updated by the end of the day Thursday 8/15/19. Homework Students have assignments in USATestprep over theme and the interactions of text elements. Students also have an assignment over “All Summer in a Day” in CommonLit for AC and "Eleven" for Onlevel. The directions for accessing CommonLit are below. Homework assignments not submitted by the deadline of 8/16/19 will receive a zero per the 7thgrade late work policy. School computer labs open at 8:10 in the morning for students who need to use the school technology to complete assignments. Many homerooms also have computers or Ipads available for student use before school to complete homework--students just need to ask permission from their homeroom teacher. CommonLit Students will log in via Clever.
Weekly Assessment This Friday’s assessment will cover theme and the interactions of text elements in a story. Students will read a “cold” text (one they have not previously studied) and answer text based questions applying their skills in these areas to the assessment. Back to School Dance The Back to School Dance is Thursday 8/22/19. Students received permission slips last week in homeroom. Permission slips must be returned at the same time as the dance payment in order for students to attend. If you are interested in volunteering for or donating to the school dance, please contact the front office. Dress Code Uniform Days Please ensure that your student’s outfit meets the school dress code guidelines.
Dress Down Days: Student choice, but must follow Cooper’s common sense dress code guidelines
