Good evening!
This week we are remediating and reviewing for the upcoming MiniTouchstone 1.1 on Friday 8/23/19. Students will complete a variety of review activities including homework focused on their area of weakness, in class concept review, and targeted leveled practice in composing an analytical constructed response. MiniTouchstone 1.1 Students will take our first MiniTouchstone on Friday 8/23/19. This is a county created cold reading skills assessment that will count as a performance task (test) grade. Homework: Assignments Due Thursday 8/22/19 this week
Students will have an opportunity to revise and resubmit constructed responses that scored a 75 or lower through our concept deployment process. Tuesday’s deployment will focus on the citing text evidence constructed response from 8/9/19 and Wednesday’s deployment will focus on analyzing theme development constructed response from 8/16/19. Waiting until the class period the assignment is due or after the deadline has passed to report access issues will not excuse the assignment from the gradebook. Gradebook Grades are updated several times a week. Please check the gradebook in StudentVue/ParentVue at least once a week to stay up to date on your student’s grade and progress in all classes. Back to School Dance The first dance of the year is this Thursday 8/22/19. Students must pay for the dance in advance and turn in a signed parent permission slip at the time of payment. Volunteer chaperones and donations are still needed for the dance. Respectfully, Jamie Hayes 7th Grade ELA Cooper Middle School
